Description

The Whiting (Merlangius merlangus) real-time qPCR speciation kit from Primerdesign provides specific identification of whiting DNA in fish and seafood products. Accurate identification of lower-value whitefish such as whiting helps detect substitution and supports seafood-authenticity and labelling controls. The TaqMan-based assay targets a whiting-specific genomic sequence for robust detection even in processed and heat-treated products.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
