Description
The Spring Viraemia of Carp Virus (SVCV) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign enables specific detection of spring viraemia of carp virus, a notifiable rhabdovirus (RNA virus) that causes acute haemorrhagic disease and high mortality in common carp and other cyprinids, typically in spring. The assay uses one-step RT real-time PCR to detect a conserved region of the viral genome from extracted RNA, supporting diagnosis and regulatory surveillance.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix with a positive control template and is run as a one-step RT-qPCR, providing a complete workflow from extracted RNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of viral load.
Key features of the Spring Viraemia of Carp Virus (SVCV) kit
- One-step RT real-time qPCR detection of SVCV RNA
- Specific target within the fish rhabdoviruses
- Sensitive detection for diagnostics and regulatory surveillance
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is suited to aquaculture diagnostics, biosecurity surveillance and import/export testing. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with the complete protocol and result interpretation provided in the included IFU/handbook.
