Description
The Vibrio anguillarum real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides fast and specific detection of Vibrio anguillarum (Listonella anguillarum), a marine bacterium responsible for classical vibriosis, a haemorrhagic septicaemic disease affecting tilapia, salmonids and many farmed marine fish. Outbreaks can cause heavy losses, particularly under stress and elevated water temperatures, so early molecular detection is central to effective health management. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved, species-specific sequence for reliable detection from extracted nucleic acid.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
Key features of the Vibrio anguillarum kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of Vibrio anguillarum
- High specificity within the genus Vibrio
- Sensitive detection for early diagnosis and carrier screening
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It supports aquaculture diagnostics, fish-health monitoring and biosecurity programmes across tilapia and marine production. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with complete protocol and interpretation guidance provided in the included IFU/handbook.
