Description
The Aeromonas salmonicida real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign delivers fast, sensitive and specific detection of Aeromonas salmonicida, the bacterial agent responsible for furunculosis, a septicaemic disease that causes significant losses in farmed and wild salmonids and is increasingly reported in non-salmonid species. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved, species-specific genomic sequence, allowing confident identification of both typical and atypical strains directly from extracted nucleic acid and supporting early intervention before outbreaks escalate.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
Key features of the Aeromonas salmonicida kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of Aeromonas salmonicida
- Detects typical and atypical strains with high specificity
- Sensitive detection supporting early diagnosis and carrier screening
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
The assay supports rapid aquaculture diagnostics, fish-health monitoring and biosecurity testing in salmonid production. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up, controls and interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
