The Streptococcus agalactiae real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign delivers rapid, sensitive and specific detection of Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B Streptococcus), one of the most economically damaging bacterial pathogens of farmed tilapia worldwide. As the cause of streptococcosis, presenting as meningoencephalitis, exophthalmia, erratic swimming and high mortality, rapid confirmation enables timely management and vaccination decisions. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved, species-specific genomic region for confident identification from extracted nucleic acid.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
