Description
The Acholeplasma laidlawii real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign enables rapid, sensitive and highly specific identification of Acholeplasma laidlawii, one of the most common mollicute (mycoplasma-like) contaminants of mammalian cell cultures, culture media, reagents and bioprocess water. Left undetected, A. laidlawii can alter cell behaviour and compromise both experimental and manufacturing results, making early molecular screening essential for reliable quality control. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved, species-specific genomic region and detects even low-level contamination within a single working day.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
