Description
The Pectinatus spp. real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides detection of Pectinatus, strictly anaerobic spoilage bacteria that cause turbidity and strong sulphurous off-odours in fermentation and beverage production. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved region of the genus for sensitive detection directly from extracted DNA, enabling early quality-control intervention without slow anaerobic culture.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
Key features of the Pectinatus spp kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) genus-level detection of Pectinatus
- Targets strict-anaerobe spoilage bacteria
- Sensitive detection that avoids slow anaerobic culture
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is suited to fermentation, beverage and industrial quality control and process hygiene. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
