Description
The Shiga toxin (stx1) producing Escherichia coli real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Shiga-toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) carrying the stx1 gene, a key virulence determinant behind severe foodborne illness including haemorrhagic colitis. The TaqMan-based assay targets the stx1 gene for sensitive, specific detection directly from extracted nucleic acid.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
