Description
The Nitrospira spp. real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides detection of Nitrospira, the key nitrite-oxidising bacteria that complete nitrification by converting nitrite to nitrate. Monitoring Nitrospira populations supports the management of aquaculture biofilters, aquaria and wastewater treatment, where their activity protects against nitrite toxicity. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved region of the genus for sensitive detection directly from extracted DNA.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
