Description
The Dekkera bruxellensis real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Dekkera bruxellensis (Brettanomyces), the most significant spoilage yeast in winemaking, responsible for the ‘Brett’ faults of volatile phenols such as 4-ethylphenol. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific genomic region for sensitive detection directly from extracted DNA, allowing intervention before sensory thresholds are exceeded.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
Key features of the Dekkera bruxellensis kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of Dekkera bruxellensis
- Species-specific target with high analytical specificity
- Sensitive detection before ‘Brett’ faults become perceptible
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to winery quality control, barrel-management and finished-wine monitoring. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
