Description
The Cryptosporidium parvum real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Cryptosporidium parvum, a protozoan parasite that causes cryptosporidiosis and is transmitted through contaminated food and water via highly resistant oocysts. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific genomic region for sensitive detection directly from extracted nucleic acid, supporting food- and water-safety monitoring.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
Key features of the Cryptosporidium parvum kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of Cryptosporidium parvum
- Species-specific target with high analytical specificity
- Sensitive detection of low oocyst numbers
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to food- and water-safety testing and quality control. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
