Description
The Tilapia Lake Virus (TiLV) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides rapid and specific detection of tilapia lake virus, an emerging RNA virus (family Amnoonviridae) responsible for syncytial hepatitis of tilapia and mass mortality events in farmed and wild tilapia worldwide. As a notifiable, highly transmissible threat to global tilapia production, early molecular detection is critical for containment. The assay uses one-step RT real-time PCR to detect a conserved segment of the viral genome from extracted RNA.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix with a positive control template and is run as a one-step RT-qPCR, providing a complete workflow from extracted RNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of viral load.
