Description
The Vibrio spp. real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides broad-range detection of clinically important Vibrio species, a diverse bacterial group responsible for vibriosis in tilapia and many other farmed fish and shellfish. By targeting a conserved region shared across the genus, the assay offers a sensitive first-line screen for Vibrio-associated disease and environmental load before species-specific testing is applied. The TaqMan-based assay works directly from extracted nucleic acid for confident genus-level results.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
Key features of the Vibrio spp kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) genus-level detection of Vibrio species
- Broad coverage of pathogenic Vibrio spp. for first-line screening
- Sensitive detection supporting pond-health and water monitoring
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideal for aquaculture diagnostics, pond-health surveillance and biosecurity screening where a broad Vibrio assessment is required. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with full protocol and interpretation guidance provided in the included IFU/handbook.
