The Warthog (Phacochoerus africanus) real-time qPCR speciation kit from Primerdesign provides specific identification of warthog DNA in meat and processed food products. Reliable identification of game and wild-suid species supports food-authenticity verification, game-meat labelling and the detection of undeclared substitution. The TaqMan-based assay targets a warthog-specific genomic sequence and discriminates it from domestic pig, giving robust detection in processed matrices.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
