Description
The Escherichia coli (Tellurite Resistant) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign detects tellurite-resistance (ter) determinants in Escherichia coli. Tellurite resistance is carried by several pathogenic E. coli, including enterohaemorrhagic serotypes such as O157:H7, and potassium tellurite is widely used in selective culture media; this molecular assay targets the ter determinants as a rapid alternative to culture-based selection. The TaqMan-based assay gives sensitive, specific detection directly from extracted nucleic acid.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
