Description
The Botrytis cinerea real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Botrytis cinerea, the grey-mould fungus whose presence on grapes introduces the enzyme laccase and drives oxidative spoilage and quality defects in wine. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific genomic region for sensitive detection directly from extracted DNA, supporting fruit-intake and process decisions.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
Key features of the Botrytis cinerea kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of Botrytis cinerea
- Species-specific target with high analytical specificity
- Sensitive detection supporting grape-intake and spoilage control
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to winery quality control, grape-intake assessment and process monitoring. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
