Description
The Streptococcus dysgalactiae real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign delivers specific detection of Streptococcus dysgalactiae, a bacterial cause of streptococcosis in several farmed fish species, presenting with septicaemia, lethargy and mortality. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved, species-specific region, allowing confident discrimination from other fish streptococci directly from extracted nucleic acid.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
Key features of the Streptococcus dysgalactiae kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of Streptococcus dysgalactiae
- Species-specific target that discriminates from other fish streptococci
- Sensitive detection supporting outbreak investigation
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to aquaculture diagnostics, disease surveillance and biosecurity. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
