Description

The Nitrosomonas oligotropha real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Nitrosomonas oligotropha, an ammonia-oxidising bacterium important for nitrification in freshwater and low-nutrient systems. Tracking this nitrifier helps optimise aquaculture biofilters, aquaria and wastewater treatment by ensuring stable conversion of toxic ammonia. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific region for sensitive detection directly from extracted DNA.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
