Description

The Naegleria fowleri real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Naegleria fowleri, the thermophilic free-living amoeba that causes rare but almost always fatal primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, typically linked to warm freshwater. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific region for sensitive detection directly from extracted DNA, supporting water-safety risk assessment.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
