Description

The Legionella species real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides broad detection of the genus Legionella, giving an inclusive screen of water systems for these waterborne, aerosol-transmitted bacteria. By targeting a conserved genus region, the assay sensitively detects L. pneumophila and other species directly from extracted DNA, far faster than culture.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
