Description

The Entamoeba histolytica real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Entamoeba histolytica, the protozoan parasite that causes amoebiasis and amoebic dysentery and is transmitted through faecally contaminated water and food. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific region, discriminating it from the non-pathogenic E. dispar, for sensitive detection directly from extracted DNA.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
