The Escherichia coli O104:H4 real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of E. coli O104:H4, the Shiga-toxin-producing enteroaggregative strain responsible for the major 2011 foodborne outbreak. The TaqMan-based assay targets the strain-associated virulence markers for sensitive, specific detection directly from extracted nucleic acid, supporting outbreak preparedness and food-safety testing.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
