Description
The Pig (Sus scrofa) real-time qPCR contamination kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of porcine DNA for cross-contamination monitoring in food production. Sensitive pork detection is essential for cleaning validation, line-changeover controls and verifying that products meet halal, kosher or species-restricted requirements. The TaqMan-based assay targets a pig-specific genomic sequence with the sensitivity required to detect trace contamination in processed and heat-treated matrices.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
Key features of the Pig (Sus scrofa) kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of pig (S. scrofa) DNA
- Species-specific target with high sensitivity for trace contamination
- Robust detection in raw, processed and heat-treated matrices
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to cross-contamination monitoring, halal/kosher verification and supply-chain quality control. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
