Description
The Universal Meat real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides broad detection of mammalian meat DNA across food products. As a universal screen, it confirms the presence of animal (meat) material and serves as an ideal first-line control for verifying that test samples contain amplifiable DNA before species-specific testing. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved sequence shared across common meat species, giving robust detection in processed and heat-treated matrices.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
Key features of the Universal Meat kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) broad detection of mammalian meat DNA
- Conserved target covering common meat species for screening
- Robust detection in raw, processed and heat-treated matrices
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to use as a universal meat control alongside species-specific authenticity and contamination testing. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
