Description
The Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides sensitive, specific detection of hepatitis A virus, an RNA virus frequently associated with contaminated bivalve shellfish and a significant foodborne public-health risk. The assay uses one-step RT real-time PCR to detect a conserved region of the viral genome from extracted RNA, supporting reliable monitoring of shellfish and their growing waters.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix with a positive control template and is run as a one-step RT-qPCR, providing a complete workflow from extracted RNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of viral load.
