Description

The Koi Herpes Virus (CyHV-3) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign enables rapid, specific detection of cyprinid herpesvirus 3, the highly contagious DNA virus that causes koi herpesvirus disease and severe mortality in koi and common carp. As a notifiable pathogen with major trade implications, early molecular detection is essential for biosecurity. The TaqMan-based assay targets a conserved region of the viral DNA genome for confident detection, including of latent carriers.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
