Description
The Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus (ISAV) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of ISAV, a notifiable orthomyxovirus (RNA virus) that causes infectious salmon anaemia, a serious systemic disease of farmed Atlantic salmon with major trade implications. The assay uses one-step RT real-time PCR to detect a conserved region of the viral genome from extracted RNA, supporting diagnosis and regulatory surveillance.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix with a positive control template and is run as a one-step RT-qPCR, providing a complete workflow from extracted RNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of viral load.
Key features of the Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus kit
- One-step RT real-time qPCR detection of ISAV RNA
- Conserved target with high analytical specificity
- Sensitive detection of acute infections and sub-clinical carriers
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to salmon aquaculture diagnostics, biosecurity surveillance and import/export testing. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with the complete protocol and result interpretation provided in the included IFU/handbook.
