Piscine reovirus (PRV)

Description

The Piscine reovirus (PRV) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of piscine orthoreovirus, the RNA virus associated with heart and skeletal muscle inflammation (HSMI) and other conditions in farmed salmon. The assay uses one-step RT real-time PCR to detect a conserved region of the viral genome from extracted RNA, supporting diagnosis and surveillance of this widespread virus.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix with a positive control template and is run as a one-step RT-qPCR, providing a complete workflow from extracted RNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of viral load.
