Description
The Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus (IPNV) real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of IPNV, an aquabirnavirus that causes infectious pancreatic necrosis and significant losses in farmed salmonids, with survivors becoming persistent carriers. The assay uses one-step RT real-time PCR to detect a conserved region of the viral genome from extracted RNA, enabling diagnosis and carrier screening.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix with a positive control template and is run as a one-step RT-qPCR, providing a complete workflow from extracted RNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of viral load.
Key features of the Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus kit
- One-step RT real-time qPCR detection of IPNV RNA
- Conserved target with high analytical specificity
- Sensitive detection of acute infections and persistent carriers
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to salmonid aquaculture diagnostics, broodstock screening and biosecurity surveillance. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with the complete protocol and result interpretation provided in the included IFU/handbook.
