Description
The Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus, the bacterium associated with Huanglongbing (citrus greening), the most destructive disease of citrus worldwide and spread by psyllid vectors. As this organism cannot be cultured, molecular detection is essential. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific region for sensitive detection directly from plant and insect tissue.
Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
Key features of the Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus kit
- Real-time qPCR (TaqMan) detection of Ca. Liberibacter asiaticus
- Detects a non-culturable, quarantine-significant pathogen
- Sensitive detection in plant and psyllid-vector samples
- Primer/probe mix and positive control template included
- Advanced format adds an internal extraction control and a quantification standard
- Compatible with standard real-time PCR instruments
It is ideally suited to citrus disease diagnostics, quarantine screening and area-wide surveillance. Available in Standard (qualitative) and Advanced (quantitative) formats, with detailed set-up and result interpretation described in the included IFU/handbook.
