Coley (Pollachius virens)

Description

The Coley (Pollachius virens) real-time qPCR speciation kit from Primerdesign provides specific identification of coley (saithe) DNA in fish and seafood products. As an economical whitefish often used in processed products, accurate coley identification supports seafood-authenticity verification and detection of substitution. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific genomic sequence and discriminates coley from pollack, giving robust detection in processed matrices.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of the target sequence.
