Description

The Legionella pneumophila real-time qPCR detection kit from Primerdesign provides specific detection of Legionella pneumophila, the principal cause of Legionnaires’ disease, which spreads via aerosolised contaminated water. The TaqMan-based assay targets a species-specific genomic region for sensitive detection directly from extracted nucleic acid, supporting rapid risk assessment of water systems and food-production environments.

Each kit supplies a ready-to-use primer and probe mix together with a positive control template, providing a complete workflow from extracted DNA on any standard real-time PCR platform. The Advanced format additionally includes an internal extraction control to flag inhibition and a copy-number standard curve for absolute quantification of pathogen load.
